Is It Freedom, Or Is It A Trap?

Americans are finding themselves in very unfamiliar waters. Stuck in careers they don’t like and worried about jobs, they desperately want change. So what are they doing? By the millions, Americans are rushing out and starting new businesses. And most all of it is fueled from the belief that owning your own business is the only true way to freedom and riches.

I admire their entrepreneurial spirit. Unfortunately, we feel most are going about it the wrong way. I know this is true because business owners work themselves to death for a couple years only to discover a very uncomfortable fact: “maybe this business ownership isn’t really what it’s all cracked up to be”.

Incredibly, many end up feeling trapped in yet another kind of rat-race. They scratch their heads and wonder, “What the heck just happened”?
We can tell you – they inadvertently jumped into the cruel world of “self-employment”. Without realizing it, these ambitious entrepreneurs ended up trading one job for another. They thought they were escaping the rat-race, but instead entered another kind of rat-race where the rats bite!

How is this true? Well think about it…

In a self-employed business, YOU have to do EVERYTHING. You have to fund it, build it, run it, and market it. You have to do the books, worry about cash flow, deal with complaints, deal with returns, deal with customers. And don’t forget about taxes. Even the government doesn’t like you – they hit self-employed business owners with a form of double-taxation!
Now that’s really cruel. I get tired just thinking about it all!

Do you see what we mean about trading a job for a job? In a self-employed business – YOU ARE THE BUSINESS. If you stop – the business stops too.

So here’s the moral of the story – not all businesses are created equal. If its freedom that you’re after, you have to get better educated and develop a certain kind of business.
You have to be smart and choose your business wisely, or you’ll end up in a Venus fly- trap from which there is no escape. In our next post, we’ll show you what constitutes a true “FREEDOM BUSINESS” so you do not wind up with another lousy job. We love freedom, so this will be a very fun discussion.

The Magic Bullet Of Internet Marketing

In our last post we gave you two ingredients for the perfect Internet Marketing Cocktail. We hope you took a very deep drink from that cocktail. If you did… then you are much further down the road to success. How do we know that? Simply because if you have “Hope” and then move into “Action” you will have success. (We have tested this ourselves.) People tend to get upset if they do not have “Instant Success”. Take a look at the number of failures that Thomas Edison had when he was trying to create the incandescent light bulb. He failed time after time but most importantly, he kept moving forward and eventually obtain his goal.

Then he moved on to create a whole electrical system that transformed the whole world. The light bulb was just a small part of an entire system that he created. Thomas Edison’s “Magic Bullet” was to keep going and never, ever give up. Hope leads to action and when you do not give up or lose hope… you will find a brave new world in internet marketing.

The Internet Marketing Cocktail of Success

The Internet Marketing Myth Busters do not drink but today we are serving up a fine cocktail for you. This is the success cocktail and it only tastes good if you really keep the ingredients in balance.

There are only two ingredients to this “Success Cocktail” The first ingredient is HOPE. We need this ingredient very much or we do not move forward in our endeavors. Hope is an essential, the vine withers and dies without it.

Now let’s take another step and mix in the other ingredient. Many people have been found lacking this ingredient. They have some hope but they refuse to mix in this ingredient to make this cocktail taste really good. This ingredient insures success but many people seem to be allergic to it. The second ingredient is ACTION!

It is easy to have hope and think about your home on a beach someday. But for most people hope is not enough to make that home on the beach a reality. They fail to take action. They fail to plan. They fail to figure out all of the nuts and bolts of their business. They fail to “fail forward fast.” In the end when you fail to take action then your fate is cast.

Only when you mix the two ingredients together in a 50 – 50 ratio will you have success in your Internet Marketing business.

We Wish We Learned Internet Marketing In School

It would have been cool to have been in middle school and the teacher says “Ok class, today we are going to learn about auto-responders and next week we will write our first sales copy and put that in your Aweber accounts.” Just think where we would be today, if that happened at a young age. Schools are setup in a manner to prepare you for getting a JOB. (Jump Outta Bed) They do not get you ready for much else.

Many of you reading this see where a JOB gets you. It is not pretty. Especially in todays economy where even job counselors are getting laid off! 85% of the U.S. citizens are really angry about the job situation right now. So, think about it, is a job what you really need? Do you ever get squished by that heavy lid that comes with a job and that lid is in place to keep your income LOW.

If we learned internet marketing at an early age, we would be knocking down at least six figures by the time we graduated from high school. How many of us would then be going out and finding a job. Hardly anyone would do that.

For now, keep your job but get really busy on obtaining freedom and that comes from Internet Marketing. Hint, there is no lid on your income here!

Is There Opportunity In A Recession?

You bet there is! But it’s going to take seeing things differently. The I.M. Myth Busters agree there’s tons of anger out there over the state of the economy. Fear levels are at an all-time high. (Be sure to read out “Fear Series.” People are laid-off, even job counselors are getting laid on now. Company loyalty has tanked. Businesses are simply going out-of-business. We’ve never seen so many vacant commercial buildings in our life! And everything gets exasperating when you factor in bulging credit card debt, sky-rocketing divorce rates, expensive healthcare, and an aging baby boomer population.

But wait – there’s good news. Our countries economy does not have to be YOUR economy! You have the power to choose a different path. You are going to have to change your of perspective though. If you just complain and get depressed – that’s not going to do you any good. We both suggest looking at things differently. See the recession from a different angle, and you may find incredible opportunity right before your eyes.

As a simple example – let’s take the real estate market. While many people are losing their homes to foreclosure, investors are poised to make a fortune! That’s because they’re buying when everyone else is selling. Real estate investors look at this economy as a huge opportunity. One investor friend of ours told us why shouldn’t he buy – there’s a huge fire-sale going on!! Can you see the power of a changed perspective? So we encourage you to be different from the crowd. Here are some tips to help you see things from a positive angle:

1. Stop listening to the media – they’re almost always wrong.
2. Become ‘opportunity-minded’. Gloom and doom thinking destroys you.
3. Say to yourself – “Nuts to that – I can make my own economy!”
4. Get motivated and start a low-cost internet marketing business.
5. Find a great mentor and learn the ropes (the I.M.Myth-Busters site is a great start).
6. Stop belly-aching and just do it. There’s no better time to start than NOW.
7. Keep a positive attitude. These are times of unprecedented opportunity!

How in the world did you get the idea that you were going to make money overnight. Overnight sensations rarely happen in any field of work. Oh and here we go, once again, The Internet Marketing Myth Busters are going to bust up another myth… Internet marketing is not easy.

So it really comes down to this, you have to decide right here and right now whether you are going to stick it out and learn and do all the things you need to do to be successful in Internet Marketing. The truth is most people do not have what it takes and most people will never make the powerful decision to hang in there no matter what comes their way.

You will need this firm decision (to hang in there.) You must take action and you need a bit of thick skin to make it in Internet Marketing. If you are not a sissy and you have some real guts then Internet marketing can and will be the greatest adventure of your life! The opportunities and friends that will come your way will blow your mind.

Traffic Explosion For The Internet Marketing Myth Busters

Get this… we experienced a 356% Increase In Site Traffic During The Month Of September 2010!

Wow, September was really a special month for us. We are on fire…but we do not want a fire hose. We saw our site traffic literally explode and we both had so much fun during that time.

We do not live in the same area so we conduct a lot of business over the phone and GoToMeeting software. But in September we got to spend a week together as we attended a stellar internet marketing event call JV Alert Live in Denver, Colorado. We both have been to a lot of internet marketing events but this was the best of the best! Plus we made a lot of joint venture contacts with incredibly talented marketers. September 2010 was a month that we will never forget. It went from good to better and then to the best. What a great experience.

It goes to show that when you focus on a single goal and take action, then you are rewarded.
